On the Go

HEALTH TIP: Most of us are often on the go with a busy lifestyle. If we are not travelling by foot we are at least doing it by car. It often seems that time flies by and because of that some of you may be comforted with bad eating habits or less water intake. To counter this situation, prepare your foods and drinks at home and bring it with you. Buying better quality foods that travel with you easily like apples, bananas, pears as well as things like fresh veggies, hard-boiled eggs, hummus and whole grain crackers, will allow you and your family to eat on the go while keeping it healthy. Same goes for your beverages, bring it with you. Fill your container with the appropriate amount of water you will need for the day, prepare your green tea in the morning and bring yourself a small box of organic smoothie or even nut/cereal milk. By preparing yourself ahead of time, you will eat & drink healthy, keep your immune system strong and of course save money. Although it may take you a bit of time to get use to the idea of preparing drinks and lunches for your fast past life, in the end, you will be happier and healthier for it!

Healthy Men

HEALTH TIP: Zinc is one of the most important minerals for men. Its benefits on the immune system aside, it helps in protecting, balancing and maintaining prostatic and testicular health. Vitamin E and F are also essential, and of course vitamin B, C and D for general good health.

As for plants, I recommend Ginseng to promote resistance to stress, as well as increase physical and athletic capacity.  Another good plant is Sarsaparilla (Rough Bindweed) to help in maintaining a healthy reproductive, hormonal and sexual life.

Get Relaxed

HEALTH TIP: Epsom salt baths seem to be making a big comeback these days. Please make sure that you are aware that Epsom salts are a muscle relaxer, and your heart is a muscle.

These baths are a wonderful way to detox and relax your body and your mind!  Simply add 1 cup of Epsom salt to your bath water.  Take care to use medium temperature water as not to decrease circulation in the body.  Essential oil of lavandar, rose or camomille can also be added.

*Please keep in mind that for some individuals with low blood pressure, this would be ill advised.
