Happy New Year dear friends and loyal readers! May 2015 be YOUR year! I wish you peace, love, abundance, prosperity, health and above all, may you find joy in all of life’s moments!

Here at Centre Natural Healing, we have had a wonderful 2014 and feel very excited about starting a brand new year. As always, a new year is like a new chapter in our personal book. It gives us the feeling of a new start: brings possibilities and new found hope.

At the end of 2014, I completed another detox and cleanse. For those who know me well, you are probably wondering why I chose to do this so late in the year. Well, it certainly is not the ideal time, but I felt it needed to be done. I was feeling tired, unmotivated and sluggish, and I certainly was experiencing difficulty with my digestion. All around, I was not at my best. So I choose to go for it and what a detox/fast it was! I don’t remember it being so great in the past! When what you are doing is not giving you the results you want, do something different. This is exactly what I did. I had a 10 day fast and it was life changing for me. My objectives became clear and I set new goals. I am happy to report that only half way through January, I have already reached a few of those goals. Here are a few of these new and exciting things going on:

I now have a brand new space for classes and workshops here at Centre Natural Healing. I just finished it this week and it looks great!

I have adding new classes and workshops within a better diversified and flexible timetable! Make sure you check out our SCHEDULE regularly for new classes/workshops being offered.

I am so excited and blessed! I do hope you will join our Natural Healing Community so we may make 2015 your best year ever. I look forward to sharing all those wonders with you!

Create a wonderful year!

My 8 Day Fast/Cleanse Diary

Welcome to my 8 Day Fast/Cleanse Challenge. Get a day-to-day scoop of what I lived through, the reasons behind my decision and an actual account of each day and see if this challenge could be for you. For more information and/or set up an appointment, contact me directly at isabelle@centrenaturalhealing.com.

Day 1: We are in early November and I have decided just a few days ago to embark on a fall cleanse. I usually keep my cleanses for spring when we start to see hotter days, when the sun shines longer and when all seems to come to life. I usually choose to do a small detox at this time of the year, but I have decided to change things up. The reason behind this decision is simple, I just couldn’t put my body through winter without taking care of some physical and mental issues. Cleanses are a great way to get clear on direction and goals and they certainly help in letting go of the old, unnecessary baggage.

At the end of the summer I found a huge bump in my breast. I was devastated, scared and so hurt! I knew it was my fault for not having let go of the extra unhealthy mind, heart and soul baggage I was carrying around. So I put ALL of it, all my know-how to work. I put my money where my mouth was.

Well to make a long painful story short, I am healthy and so incredibly grateful for it too!

I know firsthand how easy it is to let oneself fall into desperation. I remembered, ‘we are what we think and focus on’ and I LIVED by those words. I was lucky, I had already done so much personal growth work and I knew how to physical help my body.

You would think after getting the great news, I would feel extreme joy? Well I did, for a moment, but I also felt angry. I was angry that this had happened. I was angry that I now knew just how fragile life really was. I was angry there had been so many rough moments.

Well, like everything else, this too subsided. I started to feel grateful again, truly happy this time. I found a new perceptive on life, I knew I had been given an opportunity. This opportunity was there all along. We all have it, it’s just sometimes it is so far hidden, we cannot even tell that there is an opportunity and that it is ours.

I have decided to start a cleanse because I can! I want to rid my body and mind of the old, let it know how truly grateful I am for health, and I want to turn the page and start a brand new chapter in my life. Besides, I love to fast, and to do cleanses and detox. It always reminds me that I am in charge of my own decisions. Life takes care of life and we get to take care of our decisions.

See you tomorrow for Day 2!

Wednesday’s Thank You

Today I take a moment to be grateful for the abundance of fruit we have the priviledge to eat whenever we want. I am particularly grateful for that today because I am starting a 3 day fast and cleanse and I always do this using lemons. What a beautiful fruit, loaded with vitamin C and so helpful in flushing out toxins found in the body. Often times these toxins are the cause of weight gain, sleeping, digestion and concentration disorders. Nothing a well managed cleanse cannot fix! For the abundance of this special little fruit, I am grateful! image

Gluten-Free Please

Written by Isabelle Giroux ND on . Posted in Blog, Healthy Living, Life Coaching, Natural Products, Naturopathy

image Eating gluten-free is now a widespread thing, whether it is by choice or by obligation. Beware though, it is not because one eats vegan or gluten-free that you are eating healthy. Real, fresh (if possible, organic) food is ALWAYS the better choice. If you suffer from an allergy or intolerance to gluten, do seek alternative foods. The long term damage to your physical and yes mental (and often times, emotional) health is simply not worth it! For in depth information, please email or call me to set up a health assessment or follow-up. It will be my pleasure to serve you! 514-893-1920 / isabelle@centrenaturalhealing.com

How About A Little Green In My Drink?

Written by Isabelle Giroux ND on . Posted in Blog, Healthy Living, Naturopathy, Recipes

I just love Kale!  I love the way it looks, feels, tastes and what it offers as benefits.  You can have it fresh, dried, cooked and even frozen!  It is so versatile that you can add it to almost everything: soups, stir fries, omelets, salads, etc.  I get it in my summer veggie basket, grow it in the garden and freeze it for the rest of the year.  Yes, I freeze it!  Actually, I pretty much freeze everything so it will keep.  The best part is when you can add your garden & tree frozen fruits & vegetables into your smoothies.  It actually tastes great and gives it a nice texture.  It feeds you well during the winter months and is so refreshing during the summer.

So because of all it wonderful benefits, that you can find here

I love to have it, especially in my smoothies in the morning.  Here is a simple smoothie recipe I have been making all week.

1 cup coconut water

1 cup water

1 table spoon (15 ml) groud flax seed

1/4 cup of frozen organic blueberries

1/4 cup of frozen organic strawberries

1/2 an organic banana (optional)

1/2 cup of frozen organic kale leaves

Blend all the ingredients together in a blender at high speed for at least 2 minutes and serve right away.  And there you have a green smoothie at it’s best!

You can vary the fruits as you wish and you can substitute coconut water for 1/4 coconut milk and 1 and 3/4  cups of water.  Either way, you will love this high vitamin and mineral, great tasking treat!

Let me know what you think, leave me a comment below or share with us your ideas!
