I am so excited about everything Christmas this year! The Christmas baskets, the sharing, decorating the tree (ours is up already 😊 ). Not sure why, but I think it may have to do with Gratitude 🙏🏻

I feel truly grateful for my blessings and for all the lessons I was gifted to learn this year. Some moved me so far past my comfort zone, thought I would need a GPS to find my way back. 😉 But like it is said, we are always moving, either climbing or sliding. I am determined to climb, even if there is some sliding in there, the focus is on climbing.

It’s time to upgrade and get with the program, and to make this a success, I need you! In 2016, Center Natural Healing will offer the possibility of taking online classes and workshops. Before going big, we are going to try it out this month and take advantage of this time to make a positive impact on humanity. So you are invited to join me on WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 16TH from 7:45 pm to 8:15 pm in a meditation session to increase love and peace vibrations throughout the world.

March 2014 Natural Healing Journal

Can you feel it? The days are longer, the sun is warmer; it can only mean one thing, spring!!! Most people when they think of spring, think of gardening (which is actually awesome, but more on that another time), putting the boots and winter cloths away, going biking, etc. Personally, when it starts to warm up, I think of cleansing and making sure I am in shape. What do you think? Are you up for the challenge? How about joining me in a cleanse and getting a workout diet on the way?

 

The Cleanse: There are a few different types of cleanses. One consists of juicing with fresh fruit and vegetables. The other is the complete cessation of food and only sustaining a certain amount of calories with a special lemonade. This is called fasting, it is absolutely wonderful for the body, spirit and mind AND also needs to be done with the supervision of a health professional. Either way, these are great ideas to take on during spring. It is when your body and cleansing organs are most receptive. If you are considering a fast, make sure you have someone that can support you and guide you through the entire process. I would be happy to serve you either in person at the clinic or via the web with Skype or Face Time. Please follow the LINK for more details. Personally, I will be fasting.

 

The Exercise-Diet: Everyone knows the benefits of exercising, and most people have similar reasons for doing it. Some of us do it to maintain health, others to get healthy, and others do it for other related health reasons such as maintaining a healthy weight size. All of these reasons are great and we all need goals to help motivate us. We also know how busy life can be and getting out and being active is not always as simple as it should be. Here are a few of my suggestions: 

1- Don’t under estimate the benefits of a walk (cardio). You can actually burn up to 240 calories per hour by taking a simple pleasure walk. If you wish to increase the calories burnt, simply pick up your pace, add on some extra weight or do a few running sprints during your walk. You will be amazed at what doing this a few times a week can create for you.

2- Learn some yoga. There are many types of yoga out there and you will surely find one that suits your needs and personality. Some can be very soothing and relaxing while others are very demanding and will build your strength. Not only is yoga wonderful for the body but it also calms the mind. It’s like getting a two-for-one. Personally, I love yoga for muscle toning, core stability improvement, strength building and stress reduction. Hatha yoga can burn up to 175 calories per hour, Ashtanga yoga, 300 calories per hour, Vinyasa yoga, 445 calories per hour and Bikram or hot yoga can burn up to 630 calories per hour. I highly recommend this for all the benefits that it brings.

When talking about getting in shape, we often talk about calories. So what are calories exactly? Calories are a way to measure energy just like a pound is a way to measure your weight. The amount of energy you burn in doing an activity is measured by the calories burn rate. How do you burn calories? To burn calories you need to be moving. The more you move and are active, the harder the activity, the greater the calories burnt. Generally, to maintain your weight, the amount of calories you take in should equal p.m. not you burn. If you wish to take off some weight to reach your health goal, you need to burn more calories actually take in. This is why it is important to combine a healthy diet, a balanced lifestyle and some kind of vigorous activity to get in shape and stay healthy.

3- The benefits of weight training. This is another great exercise to tone and strengthen muscles and get fit. Surprisingly enough, you can burn between 400 and 500 calories by weightlifting if you do a vigorous training with little rest tween each set.

Whatever form of exercise you undertake, it is important to choose something that you enjoy. If you take pleasure in doing the exercise, you increase your chances of sticking to the program and reaching your house/weight goals.
