Red Topping

Great Raw – Vegan All Around Red Topping Sauce!

It is by far my favorite and I have tried tons!!  It is truly simple to make, kid approved and leaves so much space to add your own dose of imagination.  I recommend you start with it as your base and allow yourself to get creative.  Add whatever it is you like best to this yummy recipe.  Personally, I am a huge fan of olives, so we often add these to our sauce.  I also like adding chili peppers or a whole bunch of ripe tomatoes.  This is a thicker sauce and can easily be diluted to make a creamy sauce.  If you are in the mood, try 1 / 3 of the sauce, 1 / 3 creamy faux-cheese and 1 / 3 tomato sauce made from beautiful, warm and fresh tomatoes.   Too yummy just to talk about… 😉

Here are the ingredients:
1/2 a red pepper
3 dried tomatoes
15 ml of dried coriander leaves (or a small bunch if fresh)
20 ml of olive oil
20 ml of water
5 ml of coconut seasoning
a dash of salt and maple syrup

Start by soaking the organic tomatoes for about an hour or so and then simply add all the ingredients to your hand blender. If you are adding tomato sauce (from fresh tomatoes), you can simply puré the tomatoes beforehand and then mix it in by hand with the Red Topping.

My very favorite is zucchini noodles with pink Himalayan salt, the Red Topping and black olives!
Ok… I’m off to make my own batch right now!

Enjoy!

Faux-Nog

Is there ever a bad time to have Faux-Nog?  I just looovvvveee the stuff.  Best raw / vegan recipe ever, so simple to make and a really nice treat ANYTIME!!

I find it especially nice when there is some kind of party going on and everyone has a special drink.  Being fully raw / vegan, it’s so cool when others look at our food and drinks and say, ”Wow, that looks really great, can I try some?”.  And of course we answer, ”Sure, but just a bit cause that’s all I made!”  😉

The ONLY small catch is to make sure you soak the seeds the night before. For those of you who love the raw / vegan lifestyle or for those who love it part time, you probably already know this foodie style is fast and easy, but does require a little in advanced planning.

Here are the ingredients:

½ – 1 frozen banana
1 dried figs (let soak in mylk)
2 Tbsp. sesame seeds, soaked for 8 hours, or overnight
2 Tbsp. hemp seeds
1 cup mylk of choice or water (I usually use fresh almond mylk)
½ tsp. ground cinnamon
pinch of freshly grated nutmeg
1 of ground clove (a small clove cause you can really taste it in here)
pinch of turmeric (for color)
a little squeeze of lemon juice

So as I was saying beforehand, you want to soak the seeds first with about ½ tsp. of sea salt for about 8 hours (or overnight).  Make sure that all your seeds are covered in plenty of water .

The next day, drain and rinse well.

Just about done…
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend on high until completely smooth. Spice to taste and of course, Party & Enjoy!  😆

Let me know how you enjoy it and remember, if you need extra health & wellness support, it will be my pleasure to meet with you in person or via a web connection!

❤ Raw / Vegan Cream Cheeze ❤

❤ Raw / Vegan Cream Cheeze ❤

This is my family’s definition of fast food. 😛  When you want to have a healthier lifestyle and food habits, it is imperative to have fresh fruits and veggies on hand at all times. Most bad food choices are made when there is nothing fast and easy to eat. I always keep some kind of paté or vegan cheeze ready for such moments. What I love about this type cheeze, are all the options.  You can make it plain, sweet, spicy or any other way that you love.
Here’s one of my favourite versions:

INGREDIENTS:
2 C cashew nuts
1 C water
15 ml of miso or one small pack (10 ml) of vegan cheeze/yogourt starter culture

15 ml fresh lemon juice
15 ml nutritional yeast
10 ml of Herbes de Provence
7.5 ml of melter coconut oil
5 ml of fresh or granulated garlic
Pink Himalayan salt to taste

PREPARATION:
1- In the morning, rinse and soak nuts all day in a glass jar
2- In the evening, mix nuts, miso and water in your Vitamix or high speed blender till smooth
3- Pour in a glass dish and cover with a plastic wrap with taking care to remove all air bubbles
4- Let sit overnight

5- In the morning, your vegan cheeze will have risen a little bit, and you know it is ready
6- Remove the plastic wrap, add all other ingredients and mix by hand

This is a great dish to be added with absolutely anything. You can add it in a vegan nori wrap, with veggie crackers, with sliced vegetables, etc.  Let your imagination run.
What is wonderful about this cheeze is that it is loaded with probiotics which is wonderful for your gut and your entire body. This is what we call raw, vegan, live food.
Life feeding life ❤

💛 Raw / Vegan Veggie Soup 💛

Written by Isabelle Giroux ND on . Posted in Blog, Healthy Living, Raw, Recipes

This is my first all raw/vegan winter, and as you may know, it is freezing here! -25 is not a rare thing! If you are also a raw-vegan living in a cold climate, it would be important to add extra “heat” to your meals.  There are different ways to do this: herbs and spices, using the dehydrator and of course the traditional-non-traditional soups.

My latest creation is this beautiful and tasty vegetable soup 🍜 in a warm water, dried tomato base.  To this broth I added some tomatoes, corn, zucchini, onions, carrots, red peppers, lettuce, pumpkin seeds, herbs & spices.
After soaking the tomatoes about 30 minutes or so, I discarded the soaking water and simply added fresh warm water and sent it all to the Vitamix (blender). While my tomatoes were soaking, I chopped up all the veggies and put them in the bottom of a big serving bowl. I added the broth to the veggies and voilà, raw-vegan vegetable soup to add a little extra warm and cuddles to a cold winter day!

So delicious, appreciated by the entire family, healthy, and of course warming 💛

Enjoy Lovelies and remember, if you need some coaching on better eating habits or health issues, take the first step and reach out to me, it’ll be my pleasure to support and serve you!
