Pretty In Pink / Belle en Rose

Il n’y a rien de plus simple & sain que de manger vivant et cru. Voici une de mes recettes favorites. À servir comme petit déjeuner ou même comme belle collation crue.

Belle en Rose

250 ml de lait d’amande (ou autre lait végétal de votre choix)
250 ml de fraises (ou autres fruits de votre choix)
30 ml de graines de chanvre
15 ml d’huile de coco cru
5 ml de vanille
30 ml de sirop d’érable (agave ou 2 dates Médools)
60 ml de graines de chia

Placer tous les ingrédients sauf les graines de chia dans le Vita-Mix (ou autre mixeur) et réduire en purée. Verser le mélange dans un verre en vitre et ajouter les graines de chia. Brasser le tout avec une fourchette et réfrigérer. Brasser régulièrement pour minimiser les grumeaux et réfrigérer pour un minimum de 2 heures.

There is nothing simpler nor healthier than eating live and raw foods. Here is one of my favourite recipes. Can be served for breakfast or even as a tasty snack.

Pretty in Pink

250 ml almond milk (or other vegan milk of your choice)
250 ml strawberries (or fruit of your choice)
30 ml hemp seeds
15 ml raw coconut oil
5 ml vanilla
30 ml maple syrup (agave or 2 Médools dates)
60 ml chia seeds

Place all the ingredients except for the chia seeds in your Vita-Mix (or other blender) and puree till smooth. Pour the mixture into a glass and add the chia seeds. Mix with a fork and refrigerate. Stir regularly to minimise clumps and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Brain awake Smoothie / Smoothie Réveille-cerveau

I made this great smoothie up in a flash and I just LOVE how it helped get my choco fix in and what it did to my brain. I have the He Shou Wu to thank for that!

I am always looking for special food that will make me feel like the powerful woman I know I am, and this drink is definitely that in a bottle, POWER!

It has a refreshing taste to it and is loaded with calcium because of the carob and phytonutrients and antioxidants because of the purple corn. When adding carob to your recipes, make sure you look for the raw, organic kind. This way you are getting all the taste without giving up the nutrients. I also opted for apricots instead of the dates to give a little sweetness to it. It is a great alternative and isn’t loaded with carbs and calories. I used raspberries, but you should definitely listen to your body and add ONE fruit that you love.

INGREDIENTS & PREPARATION:
1 cup coconut water
1/2 cup raspberries
1/4 teaspoon blue corn
2 dried apricots
1 tablespoon carob powder
1/4 teaspoon He Shou Wu

Blend all together and enjoy!
*Makes 2 smaller portions

J’ai préparé ce super-smoothie dans un instant et j’ADORE qu’il m’ait permis d’avoir ma dose de chocolat ET a réveillé mon cerveau! Ça c’est grace au He Shou Wu.

Je suis régulièrement à la recherche de nouvelle bouffe qui me permettra de ressentir la femme de pouvoir que je sais que je suis. Cette boisson est certainement cela, le POUVOIR en bouteille!

Il a un petit goût rafraichissant et est rempli de calcium (à cause du carob) et de phyto-nutriments et antioxidants (à cause du maïs mauve). Lorsque vous ajoutez du carob à vos recettes, assurez-vous de choisir une marque biologique et crue. De cette façon, vous profiterez pleinement du goût et vous bénéficierez de nutriments de qualité. Pour sucrer le tout, j’ai aussi choisi des abricots au lieu des dates. C’est une belle alternative qui offre plusieurs bénéfices avec moins de calories et glucides. Comme fruit, j’ai ajouté des framboises. Je vous recommande d’être à l’écoute de votre corps et d’ajouter UN fruit de votre choix.

INGRÉDIENTS & PRÉPARATION:
1 tasse eau de coco
1/2 tasse de framboises
1/4 c.à.thé de maïs bleu
2 apricots séchés
1 c.à.table de poudre de caroube
1/4 c.à.thé de He Shou Wu

Mélanger tous les ingrédients et savourez!

Mushroom & Spinach Raw Treat

I just got my new Vitamix Total Nutrition Center 3 and I am super happy to start using it in all sorts of healthy raw food recipes. I have been making this recipe for a while now and just love it, but I wanted to try it in the Vitamix to see the difference in texture. All I can say is Wow!!! This little machine which is near the price of a new car (haha! a mild exageration) sure seems well worth it. If I end up using it for most of our meals plus it makes our food just lovely to look at and of course, eat, then it was a great purchase!

It took me about 10 minutes to make this recipe, cleaning included! Just put everything in, blend, then clean with warm water and a bit of soap directly on the base itself. Love it!!!

As for the beautiful east recipe, I put the ingredients and served it with raw veggies and crackers. So yummy!

Ingredients:

1 garlic clove
1/2 cup hemp seeds
6 cups packed spinach
1/2 cup raw tahini
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 cups sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup seeded and chopped red bell peppers
1/2 tsp Himalayan salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
cayenne pepper to taste

In a food processor or your new Vitamix, blend galic, hemp seeds and spinach. Add the reminder of the ingredients one at a time and blend till it reaches a desired consistency.

Eat with raw crackers or veggies of your choice.

Coconut, Nut And Seed Butter

Are you a nut and seed lover? Nut and seed butters are a wonderful way to get your proteins. Plus if you are careful about what is found in your food, you will love this easy, one step recipe that applies to all nuts and seeds.

Instead of running out to the store to buy one of those unhealthy nut butters or still yet, a really healthy one that is so very expensive, know you can actually transform all your favorite nuts and/or seeds into a yummy, healthy to hassle butter.

Today I chose to go with coconut. I bought a huge bag of Prana organic coconut shreds because I love it so much. Aside it being crazy yummy, here are some great benefits of coconut.

Ingredients
Coconut, that’s it!
You can use any quantity you wish, just know that it will reduce as it turns into butter.

Directions

1- Add small coconut pieces or shreds into a a food processor and mix for a few minutes. Wait a few moments and mix again.

2- Be patient, it take a while for the mixture to become creamy and butter like.

3- Pour into a jar and use on EVERYTHING!!!

One small side note: because it is coconut, it will harden a bit once the mixture cools. You may want to heat it a bit before spreading. This is also why it’s so great to mix in with other nuts or some organic cocoa when mixing in the food processor. If you mix cocoa and coconut, you will get a chocolate-coconut spread that melts when you add it to a hot, organic and healthy toast!

Other ideas include mixing almonds in your food processor to create almond butter. Or how about some almonds, cashews and cocoa! Maybe some hazel nuts, cocoa and coconut!!!

Whatever you choose to mix, when you add a bit of coconut, you know you are getting something healthy!

How About A Little Green In My Drink?

I just love Kale!  I love the way it looks, feels, tastes and what it offers as benefits.  You can have it fresh, dried, cooked and even frozen!  It is so versatile that you can add it to almost everything: soups, stir fries, omelets, salads, etc.  I get it in my summer veggie basket, grow it in the garden and freeze it for the rest of the year.  Yes, I freeze it!  Actually, I pretty much freeze everything so it will keep.  The best part is when you can add your garden & tree frozen fruits & vegetables into your smoothies.  It actually tastes great and gives it a nice texture.  It feeds you well during the winter months and is so refreshing during the summer.

I love to have it, especially in my smoothies in the morning.  Here is a simple smoothie recipe I have been making all week.

Ingredients:

1 cup coconut water

1 cup water

1 table spoon (15 ml) groud flax seed

1/4 cup of frozen organic blueberries

1/4 cup of frozen organic strawberries

1/2 an organic banana (optional)

1/2 cup of frozen organic kale leaves

Blend all the ingredients together in a blender at high speed for at least 2 minutes and serve right away.  And there you have a green smoothie at it’s best!

You can vary the fruits as you wish and you can substitute coconut water for 1/4 coconut milk and 1 and 3/4  cups of water.  Either way, you will love this high vitamin and mineral, great tasking treat!
